The denture which is implanted over the ridge is called implant denture.

- Very poor alveolar ridge
- Poor oral musculature condition
- Low tolerance of mucosal tissue
- Macroglossia or hyper mobility of tongue
- Inoperable sharp myelohyoid ridge
- When genial tubercle is above the residual ridge
- Severe morphologic abnormality
- Highly above placed mental foramen
- Partial or complete dehiscence of mandibular canal
- Dryness of mouth
- Severe gagging sensation
CONTRAINDICATION
- Severe bone loss or resorption
- Cyst and tumor in alveolar ridge
- Osteomyelitis
- Presence of infection
- Recent extraction
- Drug habit, alcoholic patient
ADVANTAGE
- Provide best retention and stability
- Increased patient confidence
- Increased chewing efficiency
- Better speech
DISADVANTAGE
- Very costly
- Two stage surgery required
